Presuppositions of Modern Science

 

  1. There is an external world separate from our perceptions.

 2. The world is rational.

 3. The world can be analyzed logically.

 4. There are regularities in nature.

 5. The universe can be described in mathematics.

 6. These presuppositions are universal.

 7. There exists ultimate laws of science.

 8. The best scientific theories will be the most beautiful or elegant.
